The office interior for the Prague branch of Cybex Goodbaby was created inside a typical 1990s office building. Suspended ceiling grids, cheap carpet flooring and a standard office layout were not something we wanted to hide behind another decorative layer. We took the opposite approach. The entire space was stripped back to its raw structure — exposed ceilings, walls and technical installations included. What had originally been a generic office interior became a rough architectural base into which we inserted simple volumes, glass partitions and a minimal material palette. The office design is built on the contrast between raw construction and carefully detailed elements. The result is a workspace that feels open and direct rather than corporate.
The meeting rooms were not separated by solid walls, but by glass partitions with slim black frames. This kept the office visually open and allowed daylight to move freely through the entire floor. Each meeting room is defined by timber wall cladding with diagonally milled joints that create a subtle geometric pattern. The warmth and precision of the oak surfaces contrast with the exposed concrete ceilings and technical character of the space. Here, the glass partitions are not only functional office dividers, but one of the main architectural elements of the entire office interior.
The kitchen is not hidden in the corner of the layout. Instead, it works as the natural centre of the office. A long bar table became the place where the team meets throughout the day — for quick discussions, lunch breaks or informal conversations. We were not interested in creating a typical office kitchenette, but a space where people would actually spend time. Curtains help divide the space softly without using rigid walls or partitions. The textile elements also balance the hardness of the exposed concrete and industrial surfaces.
The reception area was designed as a simple volume suspended from the ceiling. The black wall with the illuminated logo and the minimal reception desk create the illusion of floating objects without visible support. In reality, the entire structure is carefully engineered to hide the technical solution and leave only a clean composition visible. This part of the office also functions as a presentation space for the latest Cybex products. Instead of treating them like showroom displays, we integrated them naturally into the architecture of the interior.
The main office area is based on a very simple principle: exposed concrete, visible installations, glass partitions and minimal furniture. Instead of trying to create a “cosy office”, we allowed the architecture itself to define the atmosphere. The contrast between hard industrial materials and soft curtains or acoustic elements prevents the space from feeling cold. The Cybex Goodbaby office interior shows that even a standard office building can work differently — without suspended ceilings, decorative layers or artificial corporate comfort.
