Art, Architecture and Product: One whole

For door manufacturer DORSIS, we designed an exhibition installation at Prague’s Bold Gallery that brought together door systems, architecture and works by Radka Bodzewicz. Instead of a conventional product presentation, we created two moving objects in which art, product and space naturally intertwined.

Black Kitchen: Materials, Combinations and Our Projects

A black kitchen is not simply a choice between laminate and veneer. Steel, stone, solid timber, microcement or glass can each create a completely different result. We look at several OOOOX projects to show how we work with black – and why the material matters more to us than the colour itself.

Home sauna: how to integrate it into the interior

A home sauna does not require a separate wellness floor or a timber cabin placed in the corner. We show how we integrate saunas into houses and apartments, what needs to be prepared during the design stage and why the shower, cooling zone and place to relax matter just as much as the sauna itself.

Art in interior design: when it becomes part of the architecture

For us, art in interiors doesn’t begin with buying a painting or searching for an empty wall. If we know it is important for the client, it becomes part of the design from the very beginning. We show how we work with art in industrial lofts, historic renovations, and houses that function almost like galleries.

Why we still like concrete microtoppings after more than twenty years

We started using concrete microtoppings because of their appearance, not because they were practical. More than twenty years later, we still use them in bathrooms, on floors, furniture and doors. Not because they are perfect, but because they bring character where many materials strive for perfection.

Pool on a slope: The biggest challenge wasn't the slope

A pool on a sloped site is often considered a complicated and expensive solution. After going through the process ourselves, we think the reality is much more interesting. What worked, what we would do differently today, and why we eventually threw away an €2,500 winter cover and replaced it with simple timber boards.

Black bathroom

A black bathroom can look dramatic, elegant, and serene all at once. But as with most bold interiors, it’s the lighting, materials, and how the space is used that really make the difference. And that’s precisely where the difference lies between a bathroom that works perfectly and one that starts to feel like a burden after just a few months.

Milan 2026: less design, more funfair

How wonderful it would have been this year if we’d arrived in Milan a week later. After several years, we returned to the Salone del Mobile itself—and we understood why Milan had seemed much more pleasant to us back then, without the fair. Instead of seeking inspiration, this year we often found ourselves standing in lines, amid the installations and crowds of people who hadn’t come for the furniture, but for the very atmosphere of Design Week.

Glass partitions: divide the space but keep it airy

Glass partitions are the ideal solution for those who want to divide the space but keep it airy and light at the same time. Whether in a home renovation or apartment refurbishment, glass partitions bring a modern and practical design that fits into any room - from bathrooms to living rooms to walk-in closets.

We won Ape Grupo Architecture Award

One November day, we got an unexpected phone call inviting us to take part in the Ape Grupo Architecture Awards. Competitions have never really been our thing, and we usually steer clear of them. Our first — and for a long time also our last — competition was the Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo with Martin Roubík, where we placed somewhere between 4th and 7th. We realised that the whole competition scene just wasn’t something we enjoyed, so we politely turned down every invitation that followed. But Ape wouldn’t take no for an answer, and by the third phone call I finally gave in and said yes. We weren’t expecting anything to come of it.

#DINING ROOM - More Than Just a Cooking Space

Before we design the concept of a dining room, we always ask our clients how often they sit at the table. Are you used to just quick dinners? Do you prefer not to cook and eat out instead? Does the dining room serve more as a place for the whole family to sit together? Do you often invite guests over for dinner? All these are crucial questions that influence not only the choice of table but also other furniture and materials.

Salone del Mobile - fairs post-pandemic

Since 2005, we haven't missed a single Milan fair and its associated design week. Besides the novelties at the fair, the entire city is interwoven with various design exhibitions. For 16 years, we've had the opportunity to observe how the fair evolves and changes. And how did the last edition affect us after the pandemic hiatus?
