An industrial barber shop interior built around steel, oak, concrete and the atmosphere of classic American barbershops. Existing structural interventions exposed massive steel beams that became the natural foundation of the entire concept. Instead of hiding them, we used them to define the identity of the interior—raw, dark and unmistakably masculine.
The concept of the space grew from what was already present in the interior. Massive exposed steel beams created during structural modifications defined both the layout and the overall atmosphere of the barber shop. The steel construction was combined with natural oak, scraped plaster walls, concrete flooring and retro tiles. The goal was to create an authentic masculine interior that feels naturally raw and honest rather than artificially stylized.
The layout was organized without major structural interventions. The entrance area with the bar transitions into the main space with barber chairs, followed by a darker corridor featuring product displays and access to the restroom, leading further to the washing stations at the rear. Individual functions are separated mainly through materials, lighting and changing atmosphere across the interior.
The dominant feature of the interior is a bar made from massive timber beams with irregular edges, complemented by an elevated steel counter that conceals the operational area while also serving as a footrest. Opposite the bar sits a vintage leather sofa referencing classic American barbershops. The shaving stations are formed by pairs of steel girders with integrated sinks and subtle wooden shelves for cosmetics. Electrical outlets for clippers and hairdryers are hidden directly within the steel structure.
Each barber station is equipped with a handcrafted retro chair upholstered in red leather. The walls behind the mirrors were stripped back to the original plaster finish, while large-format mirrors extend across the entire wall surface. The product zone is separated by a dark corridor with exposed brick walls, black paint and bold geometric retro tiles. Slim steel rods placed in front of the glass partition serve as discreet coat hangers. The entire barber shop interior is based on a combination of raw materials, detail and honest craftsmanship.
