LA TABLE Mánesova

We designed the interior of the LA TABLE boutique on Mánesova Street around the kind of contrast we enjoy most in renovation projects. The delicate stucco and elegance of the Vinohrady apartment building stand in contrast to black steel, stone, and details that speak for themselves. White whipped cream and black steel. Delicate and rough. Polished and raw. We didn’t want to create just an elegant backdrop for beautiful things. We wanted a space that could keep pace with them and have a mind of its own—one that wouldn’t fade into the background, yet wouldn’t overshadow the main attraction.

The table that holds the whole space together

LA TABLE is all about dining. About exceptional tableware, glassware, vases, textiles, and objects that deserve a dignified setting. That’s why we placed a nearly five-meter-long table in the center of the showroom, which has become the main focal point of the entire interior. It consists of two parts so it can be used flexibly during events, and features a massive marble top on a steel base designed so it can be separated without compromising the overall look. On the shorter side, we deliberately left the stone rough, with a chipped edge. It is precisely this detail that disrupts the sleekness of the entire space and reminds us that true luxury does not have to be sterile.

Precisely cut background

We designed the sales area as a dark, precise, and serene backdrop for the displayed objects. The black steel counter is complemented by a tall wall of geometric shelves that functions almost like a luminous chessboard. Some niches are illuminated, others remain dark, and it is precisely this contrast that creates rhythm, depth, and tension. The same principle is reflected in the subtle backlit shelves on the walls. Nothing decorative to spare. Just a sharp frame for objects that don’t need to scream to be seen. In a space where materials, proportions, and details take center stage, precision is more important than ostentation.

A place for conversation

We intentionally designed one room to be calmer and softer. Here, we created a lounge area with rounded bouclé sofas and low tables, which serves not only as a place to sit but also for meetings. In contrast to the sharper geometry of the main space, the interior here takes on a more relaxed feel. It still maintains the same signature style, but changes the pace. It is a part of the boutique where it’s not just about shopping, but also about meeting, conversation, and moments when one needs to take everything in with one’s eyes in peace. This, too, is part of luxury. Not just what is on display, but also the way one feels in the space.

Black with depth

We didn’t even treat the back-of-house areas as spaces that could simply be ticked off as a technical necessity. In the restrooms, we used dark natural stone Salvatori, a material with incredible texture and depth that lends strength even to a small space. There was no reason to cut corners here. On the contrary. Even the restrooms should be part of the overall experience, not its weak point. When we build an interior on contrasts and luxury without cheap effects, this must be felt even in places where a visitor stays only for a moment. It is precisely in such places that one can often tell whether the concept is fully realized or merely well-arranged.

The end of the showroom? Not yet

A black steel spiral staircase with a perforated metal handrail leads to the storage area. It is a purely functional element, but that is precisely why we gave it character. We didn’t want the interior at the edge of the showroom to devolve into the ordinary. The staircase is thus not just a connection between floors, but a natural continuation of the entire concept. Even the technical parts of a space can be striking if they are designed with the same care as everything else. This is what we enjoy most about renovations—when the character of the space isn’t limited to the main room, but holds together down to the last detail.

Why do we love interiors?

It’s not just about the furnishings, but about the overall impact of a space—from the main room down to the smallest detail. If you enjoy this approach to design, check out our other interiors.
