The apartment was completely renovated and designed to harmoniously fit into the historical environment of Vinohrady. During the renovation, we focused on preserving white surfaces and added several striking contemporary design pieces to them. The kitchen itself is executed in a combination of delicate marble stone texture and waxed raw steel. For the tall section of the kitchen, we chose a profiled MDF board. In the upper part of the kitchen, we intentionally avoided cabinets and instead placed a stone shelf that elegantly finishes off the wall protection behind the kitchen. The entire interior is very precisely tuned to the same shade of white, including furniture, stone, doors, and paintings. Because of this, we sampled almost every conceivable artificial stone pattern until we chose Atlas Plan in the Staturario Supremo silk Natura Vein finish. It was the whitest, with no hint of yellow or gray undertones—simply pure white. To ensure that nothing disturbed the surface of the island, we chose a white cooktop and a retractable hood, hidden within the cabinetry. However, to avoid a design that's exclusively cream-white, we contrasted it with raw hot-rolled steel on the island doors. We waxed the steel, giving it a beautiful velvet texture. For the dining area, we chose an elegant oval wooden table in black, custom-made by Optimo Vista. This table is 2.7 meters long and stands out for its columnar base, which is inversely profiled in the same way as the kitchen cabinet doors, creating a harmonious whole.
To complement the table, we opted for simple wooden chairs with leather seat cushions, contributing to the comfort and aesthetics of the dining area. We selected the chairs very carefully to ensure they matched in color, material, and style while remaining comfortable. Above the table hang distinctive Bomma Tim ceiling lights with smoked glass, adding an interesting and sophisticated lighting element to the space.
